Technical Business Analyst

The Solution, Design and Support team are currently recruiting for an ambitious, technical and organised individual to support the design provision of technical solutions for clients and throughout the business.  This is an exciting opportunity and is central to ensuring that Gemserv can manage and deliver technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Producing detailed scoping, options appraisals and analysis on stakeholder requests to deliver appropriate technical solutions or changes that are commercially sustainable, and exceed client expectations;
  • Leading on workshops and supporting others in transforming ideas into requirements, use cases, user stories and journey
  • Develop and manage the delivery of technical solution builds and change requests through the full Project Life Cycle;
  • Work closely with third-party software and web developers to build, test and implement solutions;
  • Analyse and identify risks and impacts of changes to solutions and provide guidance in plain English and suitable technical language to support project teams in the ongoing use and decisions in solution build and change;

Requirements

Gemserv's foundations are rooted in the electricity, gas and smart metering industries. Experience within these markets is desired but not essential.

Successful candidates will also need:

  • An excellent understanding and experience of an end-to-end Software development build, release and change process;
  • Competent in basic website management using the WordPress Content Management System;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, including a good working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with a good understanding of project management and a focus on quality;
  • A passion for optimising system User Experience with a view to reducing helpdesk calls therefore reducing ongoing system support costs;
  • Ability to communicate complex issues and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders;
  • Competent in stakeholder management and confident in leading commercial meetings with business owners of solutions and service providers;
  • Ability to understand complex functional and non-functional requirements, and their impact on solutions; and
  • Experience of using JIRA would be beneficial but not necessary
