The Role


To lead and progress the development and growth of a Data & Analytics function created over the last 2 years and position services that combine with our existing core services (cyber security, privacy, digital transformation, programme management) to offer a solution led approach to our clients. Our target sectors are going through transformational change as technology, consumer behaviours and economics continue to shape the way businesses operate – and we believe data, and leveraging value from data, will play a key role in combination with our core services to support our clients and sectors.






The key responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Lead on growing our data & analytics services by defining and executing go-to-market solutions that combine with our core services (cyber security, privacy, digital transformation, programme management).
  • Build a forward plan on data & analytics capability and roadmap for data strategy, governance, data management and analytics.
  • Deliver consultancy assignments in collaboration with our teams to deliver solutions to clients and solve their most critical business problems, drive commercialisation of ideas and develop both commercial plans to capitalise on new opportunities.
  • Lead on business development opportunities, seeking new opportunity and creating propositions and solutions to pitch into clients.
  • Seek and manage network of partners to compliment service capabilities gaps and manage partners in consultancy projects.
  • Build our thought leadership strategy and plan and work with the team and our marketing to deliver blogs, papers, speaking at events and chairing roundtables to enhance the brand and visibility of the service.
  • Engage with stakeholders in our Business Units, and BU BD Directors to identify cross-selling opportunities and lead on developing propositions to pitch into clients.
  • Have a good knowledge of data analytics, data warehouse platforms and technology. Be accountable for recommending and potentially implementing appropriate technology in line with the strategy and the development roadmap.
  • Be able to provide advisory and implementation capabilities such as data strategy, data governance (including data quality), data management and engineering as well as analytics.
  • Set and deliver short and long-term objectives for the function including business development targets, evolving the service and capabilities, and development of the team.
  • Support the growth and development of our people through team leadership, identifying skills gaps and training opportunities to enable team members to deliver exceptional service.



We are looking for a professional who can demonstrate experience in one or more of the following:

  • Demonstrable relevant experience and/ or qualification in technical or analytical based subject (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics).
  • Demonstrable consulting experience. Delivering consulting-based data & analytics projects, value creation and expanding engagements into wider services.
  • Experience in go-to-market data & analytics solutions and delivering commercial value.
  • Deep experience in developing data strategies, governance frameworks, data integration and data architecture
  • Experience in data technology including common cloud platforms like Azure, AWS and GCP.
  • Experience in best practices involving ETL, data modelling, visualisation and analysis.
  • Knowledge of data centric regulatory regimes.
  • Creating thought leadership collateral i.e. blogs, articles, speaking at events, chairing roundtables to enhance service brand.

Successful candidates will also need:

  • Client-facing experiences and the ability to confidently win new business.
  • Proven experience in managing a team of direct reports and virtual/extended/matrix managed teams.
  • Delivery management supported by track-record of excellence and repeat business.
  • Strong problem-solving and scoping skills.
  • Data management/engineering skills
  • Working knowledge of one or more data visualisation tools.
  • Experience of working closely with a variety of stakeholders across organisational levels and business lines/units
  • Articulate communicator able to concisely explain findings and draw insights from reports and presentations
  • Good influencing, negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Ideally an understanding of one or more of the following industries; energy, low carbon/net zero, health or public sector

Desired, but not essential:

  • Change management
  • Project Management Experience - Prince2, Agile

Upon employment, employee should also have a sound awareness of the Company's Information, Quality, Environmental and Management Systems along with understanding of Gemserv compliance with GDPR and UK Data Protection Act 2018.
