Director of Sales - Energy

Gemserv is a fast growing and dynamic business, working at the heart of the UK’s energy, data and connected technologies markets. We provide central market services and a range of specialist consultancy to government departments, regulators, trade associations and market participants. 

 

Recent growth has been driven by a successful Business Development Team who have delivered new contracts across a variety of sectors which now include data protection, IoT and cyber security services to complement the core energy market offer. The recent   acquisition of ASE Consulting and Aprose Risk, consultancy practices specialising in digital transformation and IT enabled change projects, is driving further growth.

 

We are looking to hire an experienced sales professional to drive new business growth in the rapidly changing energy sector. 

 

Reporting to the Head of Business Development, this individual will be responsible for developing profitable relationships and new business opportunities in the UK and Irish energy sectors. They will be responsible for tracking and responding to future bids and tenders, developing an opportunity pipeline and identifying opportunities arising from emerging technologies.   

 

The successful candidate will have a strong and demonstrable track record from working in a commercial and client facing role in a relevant industry and will have a well-developed network of industry contacts. They will have won new business through creating compelling proposals and winning bids.

Responsibilities

      
  • Generate and manage a sales pipeline through prospecting, networking and client management;  
  • Represent Gemserv as an industry expert in key client discussions and negotiations;  
  • Present service propositions, write proposals, negotiate terms and close sales;  
  • Represent Gemserv at key events;  
  • Working with Gemserv’s Energy Consultancy Practice Lead to develop new propositions and to identify new opportunities from existing contracts;  
  • Delivery of personal new business sales and revenue targets;

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years sales experience and the demonstrable ability to create and close compelling propositions.
  • Education to degree level or equivalent
  • Ability to build and manage a sales pipeline using Salesforce or other CRM system;
  • Experience in leveraging business through networking and partnerships;
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining exceptional relationships;
  • Excellent subject matter knowledge of the relevant markets;  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to create compelling business proposals;
