Business Systems Manager

The Role


We are currently recruiting for a Business Systems Manager (Unit 4) role to join the Company’s Finance Team to support our ambitious growth aspirations. This role reports directly to the Finance Director. The candidate should have a strong track record of supporting the finance function and the wider business to deliver high quality technical support, reporting and solutions development within a Unit 4 environment.


The U4ERP solution currently consists of Finance, Logistics, HR, Project Costing & Billing and Planner. The role will involve taking a lead in supporting and evolving the solution by providing change management, technical support and development of the software in line with business requirements. The role will also be the main point of contact for our 220 employees on U4ERP activity and functionality. The system interfaces with other software packages using file, linked DB and OData with Power Query methods.


The data platform currently consists of on-premise and Azure SQL instances, Azure Data Factory and Synapse. The role will involve development and maintenance of Azure Data and Analytics components, data modelling and integrations using variety of technologies in line with business requirements.


Candidates wishing to apply must have in depth knowledge and experience of U4ERP, strong client service focus, change management experience and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholder views to formulate key solution design outcomes. Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse skills are desirable.




  • U4ERP technical design, build, upgrades and support
  • U4ERP server environment administration and maintenance
  • Data migration, cleansing and integration
  • Development, design and maintenance of Azure Data components
  • Management of the end-to-end project delivery process through coordination of activities on a daily basis.
  • Stakeholder management, ensuring the business is fully engaged and on-board.
  • Prepare a variety of weekly, periodic and ad hoc reports for management on project status, system performance and development pipeline.
  • Work closely with the Finance Team to ensure timely and accurate monthly management accounts are prepared
  • Identify improvements to existing systems, processes and controls and drive implementation of changes



Skills & Experience


  • Excellent spreadsheet skills and a good understanding of Finance processes
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, capable of communicating technical information in an effective and clear manner
  • A passion for U4ERP and an in-depth knowledge of how the system can be developed in line with business requirements.
  • Experience of supporting, developing and upgrading U4ERP system and its core modules across PCB / GL / AP / AR / FA / Logistics / HR
  • Reporting – RERX / RPX / Excelerator / Browsers / Balance Tables as well as SQL Ability to accurately document both technical and non-technical concepts
  • Ability to lead on change management processes and be able to articulate business requirements into system design and development.
  • Ability to foster strong working relationships with users to facilitate system adoption.


  • Experience working with systems in a Microsoft environment and administering Windows Servers (on-premises / Azure), IIS, RDBMS.
  • Familiarity with inter-system integrations using methodologies such as files / OData / Power Query and linked SQL servers
  • Understanding of core data concepts and technologies
  • Understanding of Azure Data components such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Bricks, Azure DWH, Synapse and reporting data modelling
  • Build, orchestrate & monitor ETL/ELT jobs / pipelines
  • Familiar with Agile and ITIL methodologies
